A bureacratic dogpile....
Unfortunatly my first post from Russia involves some of the problems I've had thus far...In light of that I decided to change the planned name of my blog to something a bit ambiguous: "'Adventures' in Moscow. Don't get me wrong I am loving it here, however, there is much left over of a Soviet era bureacratic "gulag".
Coming from America, the land of "(anything) for dummies", I expected at least a little explanation from the school about general things such as how I get internet in my room (so I can blog to my finger-biting audience), where the dining room is in the dorm, that I need to register my passport, when my school would actually be open..., that I would be arriving on a holiday weekend, and the most important of all that I could not pay them for my school with a credit card: rubles only please.
My friend Thomas was telling me yesterday that the Orthodox here use a term for messes similar to the ones I've had: Искушение (iskusheniye). It means temptation; I conclude that this means that in said situation one is tempted to fall into sin or conversly accept ones situation as from God. As you can probably guess it has been a great struggle, however, it has shown me how far away I am from Job who accepted everything simply when God took away from him all he had.
I will write more later about specific adventures so for now a few pictures will have to do.
In case you wonder: the time is not right, add 11 or 12 hours to know when I really post anything.
